It's that time when you look back at the past year with an attitude of gratitude and thank God for all your blessings.  This year Windansea Junior Tiare Thompson has so much to be thankful for.  Check out her impressive list of accomplishments this 2018.

  • USA Surf Team member for the 4th year in a row

  • Winner of the Super Girl Alana Blanchard Foundation "Winner takes all" heat that took place  in Oceanside. Tiare was 1 of 4 girls out of 96 selected to compete and...

I watched Miranda Joseph, age 54 tear apart Malibu Point at Call to the Wall.  She made it look easy - picking only the best set waves to put on a clinic connecting smooth maneuvers all the way to finish in front of the judges on the inside.  Not only there for her heats, she was a fixture underneath the Windansea tents loudly cheering on her teammates with enthusiasm, "BLEEP! BLEEP!".

A soon to be new family member of the Windansea Surf Club has recently cemented his reputation as he dominated in the 2018 Malibu Call to the Wall. Ripping in his long board heat, Phil Rajzman, age  36 carved his way to the finals, achieving first place. His strong yet fluid style won over the judges as he ran back and forth playing tag with the nose and floating across sections on his hi comp Hobie board.

Photographer, film maker, big wave surfer Derek Dunfee gave a special presentation at the last club meeting Wednesday night at the VFW sharing some of his favorite photos and stories. It was inspiring to hear him share his love for his home surf break and the deep meaning Windansea Surf Club has in his life.  Surfing Windansea since he was 12 years old, Derek expressed an appreciation for the deep roots of the club in surf history.

Junior Hana McEvilly wins the Outstanding Women's Surfer award at this year Christmas bash at the Crabcatcher- but not before having to pry it out of the hands of last years recipient Indy Callaway.   Congrats Hana for repping the Club with distinction at  Coalition  contests in 2017 and years past.  For those who missed the festivities, good vibes were flowing and the dance floor was pumping throughout the night.  Outgoing President Chip Hasley thanked members for their support over the last 4...
