Community Led Contests at Windansea Beach​​

May 10th: Spring Classic

November 30th: Fall Classic

The Windansea Classics are contests held on Windansea Beach during the Spring and Fall seasons when local surfers organize this impromptu event based on consistent South swells, lack of wind or fog. They often even make the final call on the day of the event! The history of these competitions is long and extensive, and placement is often used as bragging rights in the Windansea lineup itself.

A commemorative board was created to host the names of the winners of the infamous Superheat, a final heat created from the winners of all the divisions who battle for the coveted Superheat Winner title. Names on that list include Randy Lynn, Tiare Thompson, Remi Juboori, Matt Powers, Mick Davey, Jacob Kelly, and many more.

 

After the tragic passing of Ted Smith, Windansea surfers now commemorate his life with a third event on the anniversary of his passing, December 31st. It is a great way for our surfers to end the year in style, surrounded by friends and families of our community.​
