I hope all is well and everyone is having a most epic summer with great surf, great friends and of course great family.
As all of you are aware, DATB will be this Saturday at La Jolla Shores.
As the title of this post suggests, we will not be hosting the kids from Father Joe's Village this year, but rather, awesome kids from the Hope Leadership Academy(HLA).
Unfortunately, there has been a significant number of kids from Father Joe's that have COVID and the number has, and continues to increase. The individual that is in charge of the program that DATB is part of, called and requested that we push to next year.
So..... rather than not have a DATB for kids we reached out to La Jolla High School Surf Coach, Rick Takahashi, who put us in touch with HLA and we have 24 amzaing and very excited kids coming to surf on this Saturday.
We will be setting up at around 6:30AM and kids will arrive at 9:30AM and we will get them in the water as soon as possible.
We will surf until 1:30PM and of course end the day with hot dogs, hamburgers and trophys.
We do have a lot of volunteers, but would love to see you nonetheless!
If the ocean hasn't dried up due to the drought, we will be hosting Father Joe's in 2023 on August 18th.
