As we enter the 2019 coalition contest season I would like to take a moment to recognize and thank our comp team for their undeniable drive and outstanding performance in 2018. With Comp Team Director, Jon Roseman and Ozstar de Jourday leading the charge not only did we regain the title of coalition champion, we swept the series with 6 wins, 3 second place and 1 third place finish. Every team member fought hard for all of these wins beginning with the “Big Bad and Ugly”

For the second time in 2018 members of the Windansea Surf Club assisted by members of the Rock Church voyaged to El Cajon California to work on 5 new homes being built by Habitat for Humanity to benefit families in need of a roof over their heads that they will soon occupy and call their own. Along for the journey were club members Harold Reid, Graham Miller, Russell Benton, Maddy Perreault, soon to be member Carla Guillard and myself. Representing the club was Mike Perreault

An amazing day, an amazing experience with my amazing Windansea Surf Club family. Yesterday nineteen members of our club along with a club volunteer spent the day with Habitat for Humanity helping finish four homes in Logan Heights. We were divided into four categories ranging from skilled labor to include tiling, laying brick for driveways and hanging doors and non skilled grunt work which was essentially loading and moving wheelbarrows with gravel and sand! Habitat for Humanity has a volunteer opportunity for Windansea members June 30, 2018 to work on a project in San Diego. We are looking for 20 members to step up to assist this amazing community partner build a home for a deserving family. Details: The work day is June 30 8:00 am – 3:30 pm. Everyone must wear close toed shoes and comfortable work clothes. We will all wear our Windansea shirts. Be prepared to get dirty. Tools and safety supplies will be available. Volunte

My vision for 2018 is to bring back the stoke and make the club a lot more fun. Increasing the participation and involvement of our core base is a key part of this! I would like to see us us get back to our “Roots” as a club that is a surfing powerhouse and a force to be reckoned with.
